TLC from Trelleborg Wheel Systems - getting your pressure right

Have you wondered if your tyres are operating at the right inflation pressure for the work you are doing with your tractor and implements?

Having pressures set incorrectly will not only reduce the life of your tyres, but it will also affect your traction, operation times, fuel usage and can cause soil compaction issues. The cost of having incorrect pressures can be more significant when you add up all of the impacts.

We all know that with tractor operation, we need to be able to optimise the power to the ground. Without the correct tyre set-up and tyre pressure, traction, fuel use, tyre life, and therefore cost of operation is not at its optimal level.

Incorrect tyre pressure has a significant negative impact on soil fertility as well as on tractor efficiency.

The right pressure, according to machine configuration and application, boosts the performance of your tyres - increasing traction, reducing slippage and rolling resistance, with consequent higher productivity during daily operation, both in the field and on the road.

Soil compaction is one of the major enemies for your farm's productivity. A compacted soil restricts the roots growth, increases density and reduces soil porosity. Your soil is the most important resource when growing a healthy and profitable crop.

Make a difference

This is why the inflation pressure of your tyres can make the difference. Trelleborg's main goal is to help you to reduce soil compaction by providing the right tool to monitor tyre pressure and adjust it where and when needed.

Trelleborg has developed the Trelleborg Load Calculator (TLC+) - an advanced sensor-based check-up system which measures the gap between the optimal tyre pressure and the actual tyre pressure of your tractor's wheels.

TLC+ is available as an app for smart phones, tablets, and PCs. It is a professional tool, developed specifically for farmers, contractors and specialised tyre and machinery dealers, to precisely calculate a tractor's load per axle in order to determine the optimal tyre pressure for specific operating conditions.

TLC has been designed to be a smart, user-friendly tool to provide farming professionals with higher productively and efficiency. It allows users to quickly determine the best inflation pressure for a specific farming operation.

By capturing the key information about your equipment (tractor, ballast, and implements), the app will calculate the required pressure to optimise your tyres to the application.

The TLC+ App was launched a couple of years ago and since that time, its has been used extensively to better optimise tractors all over the world.

For those farmers that would like to be able to monitor pressure, TLC+ can come with a pressure monitoring kit that will feed live pressure data through to your smart phone. The live data is compared with the optimal target pressure suggested by the TLC Plus App. Your phone will deliver you alerts if the pressure is incorrect.

The Trelleborg TLC+ App is currently available for free through Android and Apple via the Apple App Store or Google Play.
