Kondinin Group researchers have revisited fertiliser spreaders, testing four popular variable rate machines from Marshall, Bredal, Amazone and Coolamon.
In an update on tests last year in New South Wales the research team put these new models through their paces in Western Australia.
Anyone who is looked at buying a fertiliser spreader recently will know there has never been a larger range of machines
available.
While prospective buyers might be spoilt for choice with the range of spreaders on the market, they will also realise the huge
variation in prices and features on offer.
Tests of machine performance are important as they provide a benchmark in terms of spreading accuracy and help to narrow the field in terms of selecting a model.
For some, absolute accuracy is the key, while for others the ability to travel in wide passes and get product out in a time efficient manner is the major consideration.
