Dubbo, Narromine and Gilgandra, NSW, are playing host to growers, agronomists, extension specialists and researchers for the three-day event.

More than 200 delegates from across Australia are in attendance at WeedSmart Week  which has included speakers sharing experiences, information and ideas in interactive sessions.

Specialist panels doing deep dives on topics including optimising spray application efficacy and exploring options for mixed farming are punctuated by tea breaks and lunch.

The breaks in the program offer delegates the opportunity to interact and catch up with like-minded growers and explore options and details of practical solutions they can take home with them.

Technology is a highlight of the event this year with growers including growers Broden Holland and Andrew Freeth outlining their journey with green on green (GoG) and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) spraying systems and how to get the best from them.

In the case of GoG, Broden explained that the opportunity to use high cost chemicals in a very targeted way has seen him spend more time in the sprayer cab over summer, but notes the efficacy and cost saving help drive the desire to get the job done.

WeedSmart Week started today and runs until Thursday 3 August with the last two days dedicated to site visits and a machinery expo hosted by Kondinin Group research engineer, Ben White, tomorrow, Wednesday, at the Narromine Aero Club.
