Weather information sessions now available.

The workshops, run by the Queensland Farmers' Federation (QFF), AgForce Queensland, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) will focus on climate and weather risks, seasonal outlooks and weather forecasting.

QFF President Stuart Armitage said the workshops, presented by BOM meteorologists and senior forecasters Rick Threlfal and Michelle Berry and DAF Senior Extension Officer Damien O'Sullivan, were a valuable tool for farmers.

"The weather is so critical to what we do and following unprecedented weather events last year, farmers are looking to better understand forecasting to assist with on-farm decision making," Armitage said.

"These workshops will give attendees the opportunity to learn about the process of weather forecasting and how to access locally specific climate and weather information using models and tools made available by BOM," he said.

"The presenters will also discuss Queensland's key climate drivers and longer-term outlooks for the state to better prepare for the year ahead."

"These workshops are a great opportunity to better understand the climate and weather forecasts and I encourage farmers and service providers to attend."
