High-intensity lighting had been installed at the top of Andrew’s silos, but to improve to area being lit, Andrew had cleverly made the support pole pivoting, allowing light to be directed to wherever it is required.
As Andrew pointed out, loading and unloading is so often done at night, so maximising the use of the fitted lights to illuminate where grain is going is valuable.
The galvanised pipe mount for the lights has the cable running up inside it, and pivots on hinged brackets with a retracting handle to spin the lights to where they are needed.
The cost was minimal in comparison to electrical conduit and mounts and provides low-cost versatility.
Andrew has a couple of Workshop books on the way for sharing his idea. If you have an idea and innovation you would like to show Kondinin Group members, send it to us on Facebook, via email contact@kondinin.com.au, or MMS it to us on 040111 FARM (0401 113 276).
