The Amarok ute defect covers 19,936 models with build dates of 2015-2018 and involves the cable for the spare wheel winch which can be weakened and snap when used under certain conditions (extreme dirt/dust exposure for example).

If the cable snaps, the spare wheel will then only be secured by the secondary securing strap. If the spare wheel detaches, this may result in an accident and injury or death to other road users.

Affected consumers will be contacted directly by Volkswagen to organise an inspection and repair, free of charge.

Owners of affected vehicles can also contact the Volkswagen Recall Campaign Hotline on 1800 504 076 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am-8pm AEST) or visit https://www.volkswagen.com.au/app/locals/find-dealer

The Polaris Ranger recall is for its Ranger 1000 and Ranger XP 1000 models with build dates of 2020-2021. There are 159 affected vehicles and the recall relates to the throttle pedal, which may not return to the idle position as quickly as expected.

As a result, the vehicle may not slow down as quickly as expected. This could increase the risk of an accident and injury to vehicle occupants. In the event of a serious accident, this may result in death.

Owners should not operate the vehicle until the safety recall has been completed. Consumers should contact their preferred Polaris dealer and arrange a time to book their vehicle in for repairs.

To find a local dealer, visit www.polarisaustralia.com/find-a-dealer/list-view/ or call 1300 654 142.
