The announcement was made last night via a virtual global launch where CLAAS also revealed a new Torion telescopic wheel loader and Orbis 3m folding front for its Jaguar forage harvesters.
The new Axions cover five models (920, 930, 940, 950 and 960) with power ranges of 242-331kW (325-445hp).
Terra Trac (rear track/front tyre) options are available with the Axion 930 and 960.
The Stage V Axions use an 8.7-litre Cursor 9, six-cylinder engine from FPT.
Emission control is handled by a SCRoF system with AdBlue injection and enlarged filter with most components mounted at the front right of the driver (outside of the cab). Exhaust gas recirculation is not necessary with the Stage V system.
CLAAS's low-speed concept sees peak torque of 1600 to 1860Nm available at just 1400 rpm and the tractor's CMATIC continuously variable transmission ensures full torque can be called up at all speeds - from 0.05 to 50km/h.
Four automatically selected mechanical ranges allow a top speed of 50km/h or 40km/h at 1470-1400 rpm.
For the running gear, a new feature is the factory-fitted CTIC tyre pressure (central tyre inflation) control system. CLAAS uses its CTIC 2800 auxiliary compressor with an air delivery rate of 2800 litres a minute to allow quick adjustment of tyre pressure from the tractor cab.
Operation is fully ISOBUS-capable and therefore integrated into the CLAAS CEBIS terminal of the AXION 900.
Terra Trac models have an unladen weight of 16.5t while the maximum permissible total weight is 22t - even when driving on roads up to 40km/h. And when fitted with the widest crawler tracks measuring 890mm, the AXION does not exceed an external width of 3m.
