Seed Master cart goes on show

The Canadian-made carts and bars were on display at the Mallee Machinery Field Days, Speed, Victoria, earlier this month, courtesy of Sunrise Ag, Swan Hill.

Seed Master carts are available in several two and three-bin combinations and as either tow-behind or tow-between configurations.

The bars have three gangs of dual-shank openers where the front shank delivers fertiliser and the rear shank delivers the seed. There is 3.87cm of lateral separation between the seed and fertiliser and row widths can be 254mm, 305mm, 356mm and 380mm.

The model displayed at the Speed field days was a Nova 630 cart which has two 9163 litre bins and a single, 3876 litre bin.  A 1410 litre bin can be added for small seeds capabilities as can liquid tank options. Models up to 24.38m fold to a transport width of 5.7m.

A trash deflector is used on the front shank of the dual-shank opener and the semi-pneumatic press wheel, which is 116mm wide, acts as the depth gauge. A combination of hydraulic and mechanical drives run the metering system which can deliver product to either eight or 10 sections across the working width of the bar.

On the bins, the lids are hydraulically opened and closed and load cells are available for each compartment. A large elevator provides plenty of filling capacity and Camso tracks are available as an option for the dual 710mm wide tyres.

The Nova 630 bin displayed at Speed field days retails for around $260,000 plus GST.
