The conference was held at Avalon, near Geelong in Victoria where a variety of hay, silage, broadacre, tillage, domestic and commercial construction gear was on display and demonstrated.
The conference was one of the first public outings of Great Plains machinery under the Kubota umbrella as Kubota Tractor Australia is the first Kubota subsidiary in the world to offer the Great Plains products.
Kubota’s acquisition of Great Plains was announced in May last year and Kubota also purchased the Kverneland Group in 2012.
Some of the Great Plains machines demonstrated at the conference include the Spartan II 607 Air Drill. Lars Pasedag, Kubota Tractor Australia senior product manager said the Great Plains machinery is designed to hook-up with no compatibility issues to Kubota tractors.
Great Plains will continue to operate as a separate manufacturing brand, in a complementary role with Kubota Tractors. Kubota’s expansion into larger machinery with this acquisition is part of the manufacturer’s aim to meet any farmer’s equipment requirements.
