As with many grain growers, efficient water use is a pivotal component of the cropping system, and drying the soil out with continual cropping combats erosion during high rainfall and reduces herbicide requirements. Darren is a former runner-up in the 2013 Queensland Farmers Federation ‘Reef Rescue Awards’ for his commitment to combating erosion.
