The NPG helps determine GrainGrowers' policy position and is an opportunity to represent growers' views on national issues affecting the industry.

"There is a broad range of issues our NPG members focus on," said Brett Hosking, GrainGrowers chairman.

"These can range from trade and market access, workforce through to biosecurity and access to technologies and farm inputs. Our NPG play an integral role in determining what issues are focussed on."

The NPG meets three to four times a year, either virtually or face-to-face. GrainGrowers covers all meeting costs for growers, as well as a sitting fee.

"We think it's important as an organisation, to recognise the significant contribution our NPG make," said Hosking.

Applications close 19 October and GrainGrowers hopes a broad cross section of growers will get involved.

Two long-standing NPG members will be completing their term; Michael Hunt, a grower from SA and Kallum Blake who farms in WA.

"Michael and Kallum have made huge contributions during their time on the NPG and will be greatly missed. They leave big shoes to fill so I encourage our growers in the western region to apply," said Hosking.

Anyone interested in applying can contact Amelia Shaw on amelia.shaw@graingrowers.com.au or 0432 995 137.
