DPI's director of Northern Cropping Systems, Dr Guy McMullen, said Dr Moore has extensive leadership skills and experience in research and development project management, international marketing, strategy and business development.

"This lead role will strengthen DPI's capability and collaboration with industry stakeholders including the Grain Research and Development Corporation (GRDC)," Dr McMullen said.

"The valuable crop research will work across areas of winter crop agronomy, nutrition, pathology and entomology. The research team conducts trials across the grains region of central NSW, northern NSW and into Queensland."

Dr Moore said the new role will provide the opportunity to be able to apply her skills, experience and networks to continue to deliver results back to growers.

"After working at CBH Group and GRDC for 12 years where the focus was on the needs of grain growers, I'm excited to be in a position where I'm able to support research that continues to benefit growers," Dr Moore said.

"I have a passion for developing new opportunities that produce profitable outcomes for growers and I look forward to provide further links to collaboration networks both domestically and internationally."

Before joining NSW DPI Dr Moore was the GRDC manager Business Development and Commercialisation, bringing experience from one of NSW DPI's key research partners.

Dr Moore previously lived in the USA, lecturing at the College of Southern Idaho on Plant Science in Agriculture, Pest Management and Crop Protection, and Agronomy and Plant Nutrition.

Dr Moore had over 10 years at CBH Group (Western Australia) as the technical marketing manager and Wheat Quality manager.
